Additional items: fishing setup - ultra light and collapsable, pocket knife, binoculars (depends on setting which I bring), warm clothes, dry replica of everything I am wearing. Not pictured: eyes, honey, face protection - scarf, boots, at least 9mm.
Depending on the destination / length of planned journey - this will grow. This is the minimal setup if there is any chance I will be overnight. Going for a quick hike in a highly trafficked area? Don’t need the fishing / snares, etc…
Nice to haves: Sat Beacon, better comms, ultra light tent / bag, etc…. This setup fits in a standard light hiking backpack - Osprey Stratos 24L. Overnights are in a 75-90L backpacking backpack.
Please note: this is Colorado winter - semi-arid / low alpine setting. Boulder → Buena Vista / Salida → Gunnison → Crested Butte.
Did I miss anything? Please let me know.
